Unlimited Usage Policy (Fair Use Policy)
Last Updated: [Insert Date]
This Unlimited Usage Policy (“Policy”) applies to all hosting plans offered by Nanoshellnet Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) that are marketed using terms such as “unlimited,” “unmetered,” or similar (the “Unlimited Plans”). This Policy supplements and is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions.
While we strive to offer generous, flexible hosting resources without rigid hard caps, “unlimited” does not mean infinite, unrestricted, or exempt from fair use. This Policy explains what “unlimited” means in practice and the limits that apply to ensure a stable, secure, and fair experience for all customers sharing our infrastructure.
1. What “Unlimited” Means
On our Unlimited Plans, the following are generally not subject to a fixed numerical cap under normal usage conditions:
- Disk storage space for website files, databases, and email
- Bandwidth/data transfer for website traffic
- Number of websites/domains hosted (where applicable to the plan)
- Number of email accounts and databases (where applicable to the plan)
“Unlimited” means these resources are not artificially restricted to a specific number, provided your usage falls within normal, reasonable patterns of use for the type of hosting plan purchased (e.g., personal websites, small business sites, blogs) and does not negatively impact the performance, stability, or security of our shared infrastructure or other customers.
2. Fair Use Limits
Even on Unlimited Plans, the following limits and conditions apply:
2.1 Storage
- Storage is intended for website files, databases, and email directly related to an active, functioning website.
- Storage may not be used as:
- A primary or backup file storage/archival service (e.g., personal cloud storage, media library, document repository unrelated to a live website)
- A location for storing large media libraries, video archives, software repositories, or backups of other servers
- We reserve the right to request removal of files that do not relate to an active website, or to apply a reasonable storage limit (100GB) if usage is deemed disproportionate.
2.2 Bandwidth / Data Transfer
- Bandwidth is intended for normal website traffic (visitors loading pages, images, and files from your site).
- Bandwidth may not be used for:
- Hosting files primarily for download/distribution unrelated to your website’s purpose (e.g., a public file-sharing hub)
- Streaming large volumes of video/audio content as a primary service
- Acting as a CDN, proxy, or mirror for third-party content
- Accounts generating disproportionately high bandwidth relative to typical sites on the same plan tier may be asked to upgrade to a higher-tier or dedicated plan.
2.3 CPU, Memory (RAM), and Process Limits
- Shared hosting resources are allocated dynamically, but each account is subject to per-account CPU and memory limits to prevent any single account from degrading performance for other customers (“noisy neighbor” protection).
- Typical limits per account (subject to change and dependent on plan tier):
- CPU usage: up to 800% of one CPU core, sustained
- Memory (RAM): up to 24GB per process
- Concurrent processes/entry processes:
- I/O throughput: up to 200MB/s
- Accounts exceeding these limits may experience automatic throttling, temporary process termination, or suspension, and will be notified to optimize their site or upgrade to a VPS/dedicated plan.
2.4 Inodes / File Count
- While storage space may be “unlimited,” the number of files (inodes) may be subject to a reasonable limit (typically 5000000) files/folders combined across all accounts under one hosting package) due to backup and filesystem performance constraints.
2.5 Email Usage
- Unlimited email accounts/storage are intended for standard business or personal correspondence.
- Sending limits apply to prevent spam and protect server IP reputation, typically 100/200 outgoing emails per hour/day per account.
- Using email hosting for bulk marketing/newsletter campaigns may require a dedicated email marketing service (e.g., Mailchimp, SendGrid) rather than our standard mail servers.
2.6 Databases
- Unlimited databases are intended for use by active websites/applications hosted on the account.
- Excessively large databases, long-running queries, or poorly optimized queries that consume disproportionate server resources may be flagged for optimization, and we may work with you or request changes to bring usage within normal limits.
3. Prohibited Uses Under This Policy
Regardless of plan type, the following are strictly prohibited and are not covered under “unlimited” usage:
- Hosting nulled, cracked, or pirated themes, plugins, scripts, or software (see our Terms and Conditions, Section 7, for full details and enforcement)
- Operating file storage, backup, or archival services unrelated to an active website
- Running resource-intensive scripts such as cryptocurrency miners, brute-force tools, scraping bots, or proxy/VPN services, unless explicitly permitted by a specialized plan
- Mass unsolicited email (spam) or use of the mail server for purposes other than legitimate business/personal correspondence tied to hosted domains
- Any activity that, in our reasonable judgment, constitutes abuse of shared resources to the detriment of other customers
4. Monitoring and Enforcement
- We continuously monitor server resource usage at the account level using automated tools.
- If your account’s usage pattern is identified as exceeding fair use thresholds, we will, where possible, notify you via email and provide an opportunity to address the issue (e.g., optimize your application, remove unrelated files, or upgrade your plan).
- In cases of severe resource abuse, security risk, or repeated violations, we reserve the right to immediately throttle, suspend, or terminate the account without prior notice, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
- Accounts that consistently require resources beyond what shared “unlimited” plans are designed for will be asked to migrate to a VPS, dedicated server, or other appropriate higher-tier plan.
5. Why This Policy Exists
Shared hosting infrastructure is a finite resource shared among many customers. This Policy exists to:
- Ensure consistent performance and uptime for all customers
- Prevent a small number of accounts from degrading the experience of others
- Maintain the security and integrity of our platform
- Allow us to continue offering generous “unlimited” plans at affordable prices
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our infrastructure, industry standards, or business practices. The updated Policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
